Sheriff: 2 robbery suspects caught on camera | News
HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX)- Authorities are searching for a man and
woman who are both suspects in an armed robbery Thursday, according to the
Hancock County Sheriff's Department.
Officials said the suspects, who were
caught on surveillance video, worked together to take $3,000 in cash from the
Diamondhead branch of Keesler Federal Credit Union.
Investigator Steve Saucier said the woman
is accused of being an accessory to the robbery.
the one who actually held them up the bank, but she is considered complicit
to the robbery," Saucier said.
The woman suspect reportedly went in the bank twice that day. First when it
opened and again shortly before the bank robbery occurred, Saucier explained.
"She likely went into scope the place out," Saucier said. "Each time she
went in, she would inquire about a different account."
The final time she exited the bank she was seen getting into the getaway
car, described as a dark gray car, possibly a Nissan Altima.
The male suspect reportedly entered the bank at around 1 p.m. with a bag
for the cash. Although he never displayed a gun, he allegedly made a gesture
that suggested he had a gun in his jacket pocket, according to Saucier.
Once the teller filled the bag with cash, the male suspect left the bank
and headed into the getaway car driven by the female suspect, Saucier said.
The robbery suspect is described as a tall, white male with dark
hair. He was last seen wearing a Coca Cola baseball cap, tan hooded jacket,
sunglasses and gloves.
If the suspects are caught, Saucier said both suspects will face felony armed robbery charges.
